Hello And Welcome Back!
This coming summer...
It's looking like it's going to be another great season of Beach Soccer! We have set the dates and will be advertising both locally and nationally to get more individuals and teams playing. We are talking to the FFA and State Federations in moving the sport forward and we are very excited in what is being said and the plans that we have in place. Of course, we need to activate the plans for you all to enjoy!
If you are a grass coach and would like to gain your Beach Licence or you would like to just get a Beach Coaching Licence, then send us an email with your details through the 'Contacts' page. We are putting together a list as we will be organising an overseas coach or coaches to help us gain the skills required, as we crank it up this summer for future State and National Titles and to increase our chances at World Cups! We will inform you all when dates and places have been organised.
Similarly, if you are a referee and would like to gain your Beach referees qualification, send us an email with your details and present/past qualifications. Also, if you would like to help the organisation, then please drop us a line and we will be happy to hear from you!
Only a couple of months to go for another great summer and we will attempt to keep the website upto date on a more regular basis to help you organise your weekends away!
Gold Coast Championships
Kirra Beach was the great venue for the inaugural Gold Coast Beach Soccer Championships and what a week it was! Played over the winter school holidays, it was a little bit warmer than the southern States! In fact the water was warmer than the southern States! Although the odd shower and a little bit cloudy, the event was a great success and follows the event put on last year during the Champions Youth Cup. We were involved with both.
Various age groups were defined and a full report, pictures and results will follow soon.
Beach Soccer on TV
Hope you had your fill of our exciting game on television recently with the northern hemisphere summer well and truly on! Setanta Sport and Eurosport are pay to view stations and both have given some spectacular shots of the game recently. Eurosport had the Beach Soccer Euro League, which is arguably the most watched League in the world and it showed some fantastic games. For us, it was something to behold as to what could happen here! Stay tuned!
Fastest growing where?
We heard recently that the fastest growing sport in the UK at the moment is... You guessed it! Beach Soccer! Must be all cramming onto the Isle of White? (Sorry Internationals reading! It's an Aussie thing!) Look forward to the day we play any of the UK countries over here, on our beaches!

Ukraine wins Euro World Cup Qualifier
Ukraine raised the Cup in Bibione, Italy. A victory against Portugal in an exciting Final has made them the best national team among the 27 who took part. The Ukrainian strength was too much for Portugal, who missed two of their best players in Belchior and Alan, who were out due to receiving cards in the Semi Finals.
The Russian captain, Ilya Leonov was named the Tournament's Best Player, Madjer from Portugal was the Top Goal Scorer and the Portuguese player Graça was considered the Best Goalkeeper.
Russia beat Switzerland to take third place in a last period demolishing performance. After being a goal down in the first period, at the end of the second period it was 2-2.
All through the tournament, Russia has showed they are really powerful in the third period. This time it was no different, the final score was 5-2.
It is also worth mentioning that over 82,000 supporters visited the Beach Stadium in Bibione during the World Cup Qualifier.

4000 people enjoy the magic of an amazing Italy-Brazil
Up to 4000 people packed the stands of the Beach Stadium in Bibione (Italy), where an exhibition match between Italy and Brazil was held and the show let nobody down. These two Beach Soccer giants offered a huge spectacle that together, with the atmosphere brought into the stadium by the supporters, turned the afternoon into unforgettable moments.
This amazing showdown, with Brazil winning 5-2, was the best of appetizers for the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Qualifier, 3rd/4th place fixture between Switzerland and Russia and the Final between Ukraine and Portugal.
